Edwin Smith’s discovery would lead James H. Breasted to translate the ‘Edwin Smith Papyrus’ in 1930. It was discovered during his translation that the scribe who copied the Edwin Smith Papyrus from the earlier document in the 17th century BC made many errors some which were corrected in the margins.
